Police Looking For Driver Who Crashed Into Several Luxury Cars
BOSTON – Police are looking for the driver of a white BMW that plowed into several parked luxury cars and a retention wall in the Back Bay before leaving the scene.
It happened early Friday morning in a public alley behind the 300 block of Beacon Street.
The damage to Scott Thatcher's custom 2014 Tesla was significant.
"It's the one that everyone talks about goes 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.1 seconds. It's an amazing car, but right now it needs some work," he said.
Thatcher didn't realize his car had been hit until later Friday morning.
"It looks like the whole driver's side is somewhat destroyed and then the rear passenger side as well ... It definitely broke some of the aluminum and steel structure," he says.
A BMW and Mercedes were also struck. The force of impact pushed the Mercedes over a retention wall near several apartments.
"It could have hurt somebody. It could have killed somebody," Thatcher says
The suspect's car was also damaged. Pieces of the BMW were left behind as evidence.
Thatcher is hoping surveillance video leads Boston Police to the suspect.
