Veterinarian Killed In Apparent Murder-Suicide In Exeter, NH
EXETER, NH (CBS) - Police in Exeter, New Hampshire are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at a home on Oak Street.
Resident Devon Beverstock says, "It doesn't happen around here."
An unusual sight for residents, but investigators say Tuesday they made the disturbing discovery inside 6 Oak Street.
New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Susan Morrell says, "The police department discovered two people deceased in the home."
The couple that recently rented the home, 43-year-old Jennifer Noll and 49-year-old Richard Sanderson, were both found shot dead.
Morrell says, "At this time it appears to be a murder-suicide in that there appears to be a self-infected gun shot to Mr. Sanderson."
Police made the find when family members called concerned. Now residents just want to know why.
Beverstock says, "I can't remember the last time something like this happened."
Police were still on the scene late into Tuesday night. Autopsies will be performed in Concord. There is no word on a motive.
Noll was a veterinarian at the Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Windham.
The hospital released a statement saying the staff "is in shock and devastated."
