Police Identify Victim Killed In Roxbury Shooting

BOSTON (CBS/AP) — Boston Police say they've named the teenager who was fatally shot near the department's headquarters.

The victim was identified Saturday as 17-year-old D'Andre King-Settles of Roxbury.

Police found King-Settles on Friday afternoon in the area of 60 Annunciation Road, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Commissioner William B. Evans told news organizations he was troubled the shooting took place so close to the police headquarters, saying "it goes to the brazen nature of the shooting."

Evans added how "these young kids could not care less."

Boston Police are still actively investigating the incident and asked the community for assistance in solving the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston Police at (617) 343-4470. Anonymous tips can be left by calling Crimestoppers at 1 (800) 494-TIPS (8477), or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
