Police Seek Suspect In Chelsea Shooting

CHELSEA (CBS) -- Police are looking for the suspect who shot a 16-year-old in Chelsea early Saturday evening.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the area of Shurtleff and Maverick streets. The teen was shot in his arm, police say, and that's when a man nearby came to his aid.

"I said, 'Hey, are you alright?' and he was like 'No, man, I just got shot,'" witness Michael Perez told WBZ-TV on Sunday.

When he pulled up the teen's sweater and jacket, Perez says he saw a hole in his arm.

He was taken to a local hospital where he is recovering. His current condition is unknown.

As of late Sunday night, no arrests had been made. No additional information was immediately available.
