Police: Worcester Home Shot At, Pipe Bomb Left In Driveway

WORCESTER (CBS) - Worcester police say they are stepping up patrols in the neighborhood around Barclay Street after a home was shot at overnight and a pipe bomb was planted on an SUV outside the home.

Officers first responded to the home around 2:40 a.m. after a ShotSpotter notification. They found numerous bullet holes in riddling the home.

There were no injuries.

Late Friday morning, officers were called back to the scene to investigate a suspicious device that turned out to be a live pipe bomb.

The State Police Bomb Squad was called in to dispose of the device, which was left on top of the spare tire of an SUV in plain view.
