Pilot Not Seriously Injured As Small Plane Crashes In New Hampshire

HAMPTON, N.H. (CBS) -- A small, single-engine plane crashed in a Hampton, New Hampshire neighborhood early Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured and the pilot only sustained minor injuries.

Hampton Police say the plane crashed into some trees off Reddington Lane around 12:30 p.m. The pilot, who walked away from the crash, said he came in too low for a landing and clipped the trees.

He took off from Beverly Airport in Massachusetts and reportedly was on his way to the Hampton Airfield when the accident occurred.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the cause of the crash, beginning Monday.
