Suicidal Man Shot By Police In Walpole, NH
WALPOLE, N.H. (CBS) – A state trooper shot and injured a suicidal man during a confrontation early Saturday morning in Walpole, New Hampshire.
It happened just after 3 a.m. Police encountered 26-year-old Jacob Gasbarro outside a home on County Road after a report of a suicidal person.
Minutes later, a trooper shot Gasbarro. A Walpole Police officer was also on scene at the time but did not fire.
Gasbarro was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No one else was hurt during the incident.
The names of the involved officers will not be released until their interviews with the New Hampshire Attorney General's office are completed.
There is no known video of the confrontation.
Attorney General John Formella will determine if the officer's use of force was justified under New Hampshire law.
