Bail revoked for man accused of peering into windows in Brighton

BOSTON - A man accused of peeping into homes in Brighton near Boston College appeared in court Monday.

Police arrested 33-year-old Oqueli Pascual-Hernadez of Brighton on Saturday night. He also goes by the name Pascual Oqueli.

On Monday, a judge revoked his bail for 60 days from a prior case where Pascual-Hernadez faces similar charges. The prosecutor said that in June 2021, Pascual-Hernadez was accused of climbing through a window into a woman's room.

After the 60 days, Pascual-Hernadez will then be held on $3,000 bail. 

Boston Police were called to Strathmore and Lothian roads around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday for a suspicious person. They found a man who matched the description and later identified him as Pascual-Hernadez. Police said he was also arrested on a prior warrant for a breaking and entering incident on Egremont Road.

Pascual-Hernadez was charged with trespassing, criminal harassment, and disorderly conduct for an incident on Braemore Road on October 2. According to prosecutors, officers were called to Braemore Street by a woman who reported seeing a man look through her bedroom window. She said he also appeared on her Ring camera, looking into her roommate's bedroom window.  

 A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf at his arraignment in Brighton District Court.

"There have been a series of similar incidents over the last week, week and a half, in this neighborhood. Police have been heavily involved. No one has been apprehended except for this defendant but I don't want to give the impression whatsoever that he is charged with anything at this point other than the October 2 incident. Police are continuing to investigate the neighborhood problem," the prosecutor said. 

If Pascual-Hernadez makes bail, he must stay away from the alleged victim and the location. 

Boston College Police believe he's the same man wanted for a burglary on Kirkwood Road in Brighton back on October 13.  

A defense attorney for Pascual-Hernadez said he lives in Brighton with his brother and sister but he has three children in Honduras, where he is from.
