Pedestrian Killed In Mission Hill Crash

BOSTON (CBS) -- Police responded to a fatal pedestrian crash in Mission Hill Saturday night.

Police say a pedestrian was hit and killed around 6:20 p.m. at Hillside and Sunset Streets. 22-year-old Jessica Cosman, from North Grafton, was struck by a car that seemingly lost control as it drove down the road.

The driver, a 20-year-old male, remained on scene after the crash. It's unclear whether the weather played a role in this crash.

Neighbors rushed to help Cosman, but it was too late.

"I couldn't see her, I yelled. There was just no response," Katy Boyd said. "All you could hope was that maybe she was unconscious."

The roads are steep in Mission Hill and often slippery when it snows.

"It's really slick out there. people are standing there on the hill sliding don the hill," Boyd said. "I've never felt so much hurt for someone I've never met."

Police continue to investigate.
