Report: Tom Brady Suffers High-Ankle Sprain
BOSTON (CBS) -- Even as Tom Brady limped away from the podium following Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, Patriots fans felt pretty confident their quarterback wasn't too hurt despite taking several hard hits in New England's regular season finale.
A report on Monday afternoon might introduce at least some doubt.
According to NFL Network's Albert Breer reported that Brady suffered a high-ankle sprain. Despite the injury, which can be a tough one, Brady should be able to play for the Patriots in the divisional round.
Per source, Patriots QB Tom Brady has a high ankle sprain. Not an ideal result, but Brady's played through worse in the past.

Despite the injury, which is a tough one, expectation is Tom Brady will be ready to go for the Patriots' playoff opener on Jan. 16.

Breer's report added on to Adam Schefter's report earlier in the day, in which Schefter noted that Brady's right ankle is sprained but there were no breaks.
Tom Brady underwent MRI on ankle that revealed a sprain but no breaks, no fractures, per league source. Expected to be ready for playoffs.

Brady hurt his ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's loss after defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh rolled up on him from behind, with his 320-pound frame falling onto the back of Brady's legs. The QB limped off the field and was examined on the sidelines, but returned after having his ankle re-taped. He didn't miss a down until Jimmy Garoppolo entered the game for New England's final drive.
"I'm pretty sore," Brady said after the game. "But it will be all right."
Brady finished the regular season with 4,770 yards, 36 touchdowns and seven interceptions, completing a career-high 402 passes. He was sacked 38 times over the course of the season, including 16 times over the final six weeks.
