Patriots Claim WR Michael Floyd

BOSTON (CBS) -- The New England Patriots are adding another wide receiver to the mix.

The Patriots have claimed receiver Michael Floyd off waivers. Floyd was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday following a DUI arrest.

Floyd, the 13th overall pick in 2012, had 33 receptions for 446 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games for the Cardinals in 2016. He had six touchdowns in both 2015 and 2014, posting a career-high 1,041 yards in 2013.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound receiver could give Tom Brady another deep threat to close the 2016 season, and the Patriots more receiving depth if Danny Amendola can't return from an ankle injury.

Floyd also had a DUI in college when he was at Notre Dame. He will be a free agent after this season.
