Patriots Give Fan With Terminal Cancer Tickets To AFC Championship

BOSTON (CBS) – Patriots owner Robert Kraft made a fan's dream come true Sunday night.

Cathy Nichols is a teacher from Maine who was just diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Her co-workers shared her story with CBS 13 in Maine. The TV station then sent the information to the Patriots.

Kraft gave Cathy and her son field passes and front row tickets to Sunday night's AFC Championship game.

"We had already picked out the game we were going to come to next fall and my biggest fear was that I wasn't going to get to see my beloved Patriots play again," Nichols said before the game. "And not only am I seeing them play but I'm at a playoff game watching them, so it's like unbelievable!"

Cathy got a phone call from Robert Kraft, who told her he hoped the team would win for her and that fans like her that inspire them to play hard.

The Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 and will face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
