Patriots Garoppolo, Brissett Both Limited At Wednesday's Practice
BOSTON (CBS) -- Constantly asked about the status of quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett over the last five days, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick always told reporters they'd have to wait for the injury report on Wednesday.
That long-awaited report has finally been released, with both quarterbacks limited at Wednesday's practice session in Foxboro.
Garoppolo and Brissett joined six other players listed as limited on the report, as the Patriots prepare to host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday:
QB Jacoby Brissett (right thumb)
OT Marcus Cannon (calf)
G Jonathan Cooper (foot)
LB Jonathan Freeny (shoulder)
QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder)
TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring)
LB Dont'a Hightower (knee)
CB Eric Rowe (ankle)
Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder in the first half of Week 2's win over the Miami Dolphins and sat out New England's Week 3 win over the Houston Texans, with Brissett starting in his place. Brissett hurt his thumb in the contest, but told reporters his thumb was "fine" in the locker room on Wednesday.
Garoppolo told reporters he's taking things day-by-day, but looked good on the practice field.
Chances are we won't know which quarterback will start until Sunday morning, but it's good to see them both out on the practice field, even if they are limited.
As for the Bills, tight end Charles Clay (knee), offensive linemen Cyrus Kouandilio (ankle) and Patrick Lewis (knee) and wide receiver Sammy Watkins (foot) did not participate in Wednesday's practice. Defensive backs Colt Anderson (foot), Darby Jones (hamstring), Aaron Willams (ankle) and Jonathan Meeks (foot), quarterback Cardale Jones (right shoulder), offensive lineman Cordy Glenn (ankle) and wide receiver Greg Salas (groin) were all limited.
