Patriots Blog: Gronk Removes Suspense From Week 1 Playing Status
FOXBORO (CBS) -- It was a pretty interesting exchange in the Patriots locker room today.
The question was to Rob Gronkowski: Are you ready to play on Sunday?
He answered: I've been given the green light and I'm playing against Miami.
All the suspense is gone, and it was a unique twist for Gronk himself to break the story. He said he didn't want to drag this on any longer than necessary.
Rob has worked all preseason coming back from a knee injury, and he didn't play in any preseason games. He said he's feeling good and that the training staff has done a great job in making sure he's made progress.
Now, whether Gronk starts or not is up in the air. He did mention that he's still working on getting into football conditioning and the only way to do that is to play.
But the good news is that he's playing. Gronk said it -- he's playing. He didn't want anybody to say they had a random source, so he broke the news himself.
