Bill Belichick Wore His Late Father's Fedora As Patriots Arrived In Minnesota
BOSTON (CBS) -- Bill Belichick was oozing with style when the Patriots arrived in Minnesota on Monday afternoon.
The Patriots head coach was sporting a dapper fedora as he departed the team's AirKraft after it landed at Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport on Monday afternoon, showing off a fashion sense we usually don't see out of New England's hooded-one.
We now know the hat carries a lot of sentimental meaning for Belichick, as it belonged to his late father and longtime football coach Steve Belichick.
"That was my dad's hat, so I thought I'd just toss that one one. I felt good about wearing it," Belichick told former Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest during Monday evening's Super Bowl Opening Night. "Minnesota is a good place to have a hat. It did the trick."
Belichick's quarterback was a big fan.
"He looked good. I loved it," Tom Brady said during Super Bowl Opening Night. "He stepped his game up a lot."
No word on what was in the garment bag that Belichick carried off the plane, but there's a good chance they were his cut-off hooded sweatshirts for the week ahead.
