Bill Belichick Announces He's Now A Grandfather
BOSTON (CBS) -- Bill Belichick is a man of many titles.
He's a four-time Super Bowl winning head coach, and will potentially go down as the greatest head coach to ever don a headset in the NFL.
Now, for the first time, he has a new title: Grandpa.
The Patriots head coach opened his Tuesday morning news conference by announcing his family has "a new addition to the depth chart." Belichick's son, Steven, and his girlfriend welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Blakely Rose.
"She was born this morning to my son Steve and the real 'MVP', Jen, so this is a happy and exciting day for all of us," said Belichick. "And with that, we'll move on to the Steelers."
Steven is New England's safeties coach, so there will be plenty of pictures of Blakely making their way to Gillette Stadium in the near future.
There's no practice for the Patriots on Tuesday, so Bill will likely work in a trip to the hospital to explain the differences of a 4-3 and 3-4 defense to his new granddaughter.
