Pan-Mass Challenge Raises Record $47 Million For Dana-Farber

BOSTON (CBS) -- Thousands of Pan-Mass Challenge riders are finding out that all their hard work, training, and fundraising has paid off--in a huge way.

The PMC will be delivering a $47,000,000 check to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

That's a new record, and $1 million higher than this year's goal.

In August, more than 6,000 riders took to the streets and roads of Massachusetts, with many pedaling the 192-mile route from Sturbridge to Provincetown over two days.

There are shorter one-day rides on both Saturday and Sunday as well, and more than 4,000 volunteers work to make the event run smoothly.
