Officials Await Autopsy Results On Custodian In Plymouth Hazmat Incident

PLYMOUTH (CBS) – Officials are still awaiting autopsy results but say it is possible the cause of a school custodian's death Monday is unrelated to exposure to an unknown hazardous material that sent 10 first responders to the hospital.

The Department of Public Health was at the Manomet Elementary School in Plymouth Monday night and Tuesday conducting tests, the Plymouth Fire Department reported.

After two rounds of testing the DPH had found no dangerous readings, Plymouth fire officials said. One more tests remained to be done before the building would be returned to control of school officials.

Chester Flattery, 53, of Plymouth, a custodian at the school, died in the incident at the school.

Ten public safety workers who responded to the scene and one school employee were transported to a local hospital for evaluation with symptoms of possible chemical exposure.
