Nut Butter Recall Includes Some Whole Foods, Trader Joe's Products

BOSTON (CBS) – Possible salmonella contamination has led to the voluntary recall of some almond butter products sold at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

nSpired Natural Foods, Inc., is recalling several lots of nut butters after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration alerted the company to possible risks following a round of routine testing.

According to the FDA, nSpired received reports of four illnesses that may be associated with the products, which were also sold under the brand names Arrowhead Mills Peanut Butters,

MaraNatha Almond Butters and Peanut Butters and private label brands for Safeway and Kroger and Safeway.

The impacted products feature "best by" dates between December 2014 and July 2015.
