Not Satisfied With Patriots Roster? 'Belichick Isn't Done Yet' Says Scott Zolak

BOSTON (CBS) - Two months ago to the day, Patriots fans were celebrating the team's fourth Super Bowl victory.

Now two months removed, with the NFL Combine and major free agency period over with, 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand show discussed the Patriots current roster Thursday morning.

The Patriots ended up losing three key defensive starters in Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner and Vince Wilfork. Looking at the good, New England brought back safety Devin McCourty on a multi-year deal, franchise tagged kicker Stephen Gostkowski, signed defensive end Jabaal Sheard and made other small moves.

In the overall scheme of things, this Patriots squad is a lot different from what they were two months ago.

"Is this team better or worse than what they were two months ago? They are worse. They're not even the same team as they were when they won it all. This team has taken a step back. It may not be a big step back, but it's a step back," Bertrand said.

"They're not the same team, they haven't done a lot in free agency. They've made a couple of signings but they haven't made really any big moves. It seems like a lot of the guys the Patriots were rumored to be in on they didn't end up landing," he added.

The Patriots were rumored to be interested in several big name free agents, including running back Reggie Bush and wide receivers Percy Harvin, Stevie Johnson and Brian Hartline. Although the Patriots have been looking through free agency, the market is dwindling for the team to try to fill in any holes.

"It just doesn't seem they were very active in free agency. There is not a ton left out there at this point. We're now into April and there might be a few bottom-of-your-roster type moves you can make right now. The major moves in free agency are done," Bertrand added. "It feels like if the Patriots are going to get any better, or at the very least be as good as they were last year, won't they have to use the draft as a way to do it?"

With Revis and Browner gone, cornerback is obviously a big position of need. Scott Zolak believes the Patriots are still in the hunt for an established cornerback.

"I don't think Belichick is done yet. I think the Patriots are finding a cornerback on a Draft day trade. I think that's coming down," Zolak mentioned.
