Norwood Police: 911 Caller Wanted Help Finding Out TV Schedule

NORWOOD (CBS) – You're only supposed to call 911 in a case of an emergency.

Everyone knows that, right?

Apparently not.

Norwood police went to their Twitter page Tuesday night to remind people after someone called for help with finding out what's on TV:

Police told WBZ-TV Wednesday they did not charge the caller, but they would like everyone to know if you need to talk to police and it's not an emergency, dial the department's main number, not 911.

It's not the first time, and probably won't be the last, that this type of thing has happened.

In 2013, a New Hampshire woman was arrested for calling 911 to ask for a pen.

Another was arrested for calling the emergency-only line because she wanted help ordering Chinese food.

And there was that time a boy in Brockton called 911 because he didn't want to go to bed.
