NH Woman, 63, Tied Up In Home Invasion, Found 9 Hours Later By Contractor

CHARLESTOWN, N.H. (CBS) -- A 63-year-old woman was left in critical condition after she was tied up during a home invasion and robbery, New Hampshire police say.

A contractor doing work on her River Road home in Charlestown found the woman tied up in her basement Monday morning, state police said. She was in critical condition because of an existing medical issue and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Police said that about nine hours earlier, she was surprised by two men inside her residence after letting her dog out. They overpowered her and left her bound in the basement, before stealing jewelry and several gold and silver coins and bars, according to authorities.

Home surveillance video captured images of the men, who are believed to be white males in their 20s or early 30s.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
