NH Searchers Find Body Of Missing Swimmer
BRISTOL, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say they have found the body of a 32-year-old man who leapt into the Smith River in Bristol one week ago.
Conservation officers patrolling in boats on Monday found the body of Aaron Hoyt of Northfield about a half mile below Profile Falls.
The search began April 14, after Hoyt disappeared in the fast-moving river. The search had to be suspended midweek as spring runoff brought water levels dangerously high.
Fish and Game officials resumed the search over the weekend, assisted by New England K-9 Search and Rescue teams and the Bristol police.
Officials said the water level in the Smith River has gone down more than 30 feet since the high water mark on Thursday.
