NH Reporter Sentenced To Jail Over Camera In Women's Bathroom

ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A former newspaper reporter convicted of hiding a camera in a women's bathroom at the building where he worked has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Forty-five-year-old Conor Makem of Dover pleaded guilty on Friday to 19 charges of invasion of privacy and one charge of falsifying physical evidence.

Makem, a former Rochester Times reporter, also signed paperwork registering him as a sex offender.

A woman discovered the camera on Oct. 7, 2013, in the Merchants' Plaza building. Makem was arrested 10 days later and fired from the newspaper.

Court papers say the camera obtained pictures of at least six victims.
