NFLPA: Roger Goodell's League Office 'Is Bad For Our Business And Bad For Our Game'
BOSTON (CBS) -- The NFLPA and Tom Brady were handed a loss in court on Wednesday, as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit denied the union's request for an en banc rehearing.
After the loss at the Second Circuit, the union released a statement stating it will "review all of our options on behalf of Tom Brady and all NFL players," as the quarterback likely gears up for a petition to the Supreme Court.
The NFLPA also delivered a blunt insult to commissioner Roger Goodell as part of its brief statement.
"Despite today's result, the track record of this League office when it comes to matters of player discipline is bad for our business and bad for our game," the statement read. "We have a broken system that must be fixed."
According to the union, the Second Circuit overlooked a misuse of power by Goodell, who served as arbitrator in Brady's appeal hearing and ultimately ruled to uphold the punishment that he issued to begin with.
"We are disappointed with the decision denying a rehearing, as there were clear violations of our collective bargaining agreement by the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell," the statement read.
