New Hampshire Troopers Issue 96 Citations Enforcing New 'Hands-Free' Law
CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) -- Police in New Hampshire issued dozens of citations and warnings over the holiday weekend to enforce the state's new "hands-free" law.
The law bans the use of hand-held cellphones and electronic devices. New Hampshire State Police troopers wrote 96 citations and issued 47 warnings to people using devices while driving over the July 4 weekend.
"We would like to highlight that drivers were found to be overwhelmingly compliant with the new distracted driving law, which went into effect July 1," state police said in a statement.
