N.H. State Trooper Struck During Traffic Stop

MERRIMACK, N.H. (CBS) -- New Hampshire State Police are looking for a vehicle they say struck a trooper while he conducted a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

State Police said the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack near Exit 10. They said the vehicle struck the trooper and his cruiser's driver side door and took off.

The trooper was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has not yet been identified.

State Police are looking for a light-colored SUV with front passenger window and passenger side mirror damage. They are asking anyone with information to contact them.

The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
