Neely On Felger & Mazz: Claude Julien Willing To 'Shake Things Up' With Bruins Roster

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Bruins finally broke through and won a game against the Montreal Canadiens, which they hadn't done in the regular season in nearly two calendar years. It was an encouraging precursor to the Winter Classic on New Year's Day, when the Bruins face the Canadiens at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

Bruins president Cam Neely was as encouraged by the game as anyone, and discussed it Thursday afternoon on Felger & Mazz. Are players getting tired of the Winter Classic and the factors that go into it unlike normal, indoor games? If any Bruins players have said they don't want to play in it, Neely hasn't heard it.

"From everything I'm hearing around here, guys are excited about it - especially playing at Gillette [Stadium]," he said.

When asked about coach Claude Julien's increased propensity to mix up the lines and modify the roster from game to game, curious considering that Julien is known for his consistency in rolling the same four lines on a nightly basis. Neely said that he is always talking with GM Don Sweeney about the lineup and what they can do in any given game to put the best lineup on the ice.

"Claude is open to looking at what he's got for opportunities within the lineup," said Neely. "If he feels he's got to shake things up a bit, that's what he does."
