The discovery led to a lengthy and complicated recovery effort because of the body's remote location.

First responders had to use ATVs, snowmobiles and utility vehicles to get them and their equipment to the site. The recovery was complicated by rough terrain and snow-covered trails.

The body was recovered from the mountain at about 5 p.m.

Although classified as an unattended death, investigators processed the scene in case a crime occurred.

The identity of the body was not disclosed.
