Moose On The Loose Spotted Running Through Watertown, Belmont

WATERTOWN (CBS) – There's a moose on the loose in the Boston area.

Police say a juvenile moose was seen running early Wednesday morning along Waverly Avenue in the west end of Watertown.

From there, it was followed into Belmont and was spotted dashing down Bartlett Avenue. Belmont authorities said it was last seen in the upper Concord Avenue area.

"I think the moose just wants to get away from the traffic and everything else, much like most people do," Belmont Assistant Police Chief James MacIsaac told WBZ-TV.

Environmental police are working to track the moose down. Officials say it was last seen on the edge of the Audubon Sanctuary in Belmont at about 11 a.m.
