Moderna Submits COVID Booster To FDA
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - Cambridge-based Moderna has submitted COVID-19 booster shot to the FDA, it announced Wednesday.
The company said a third dose, given in the same concentration as the first two doses can boost a person's immune response to the Delta variant by more than 40 times.
In trials, Moderna gave a third dose to participants 6 months after their second dose of the vaccine. The company said the third dose "induced robust antibody responses" and was as safe as the second dose.
