Interstate 495 hit-and-run

A 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old man died Saturday around 6 a.m. during the crash on the northbound side of I-495. Two other people were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

All four people were inside a pickup truck that slammed into a tree on the median, leaving them trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle. Police have not released the names of the victims of the crash.

Police said the driver of a second vehicle did not stop at the scene of the crash. Massachusetts State Police said Saturday they were searching for the driver.

Nguyen later turned herself in to the Lawrence Police Department.

People who live and work in the area told WBZ-TV that cars regularly go too fast in the area. It is unclear if speed played a factor in Saturday's crash.

The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and the Essex District Attorney's office.
