Mental Health Patient Accused Of Random Knock-Out Attack On Janitor In Manchester, NH

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) - A homeless man seeking treatment at a mental health center is facing charges after police say he punched a janitor and knocked him unconscious.

Christopher Blanchard, 31, faces a charge of second degree assault.

Police say the victim was sweeping the floor when Blanchard attacked him for no apparent reason.

The victim is believed to have suffered a brain bleed, as well as a broken orbital bone and a broken tooth. He's in the hospital in stable condition.

Blanchard is set to be arraigned at Manchester District Court on Wednesday.
