Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps Up To $540 Million
BRAINTREE (CBS) – A $1 ticket can give you a shot at more than half a billion dollars this week.
Lottery officials announced Thursday that the Mega Millions jackpot jumped up again to an estimated $540 million. The cash option for Friday night's drawing is an estimated $380 million.
This is the third-highest Mega Millions jackpot of all time. No one has matched all the correct numbers since March 8.
Tickets for the next drawing will be sold until 10:45 p.m. Friday night.
The Powerball jackpot is nearing $300 million – that drawing for the estimated $288 million prize takes place on Saturday.
