Boylston Police Officer Hit By Car While Executing Search Warrant At Fitchburg Home

FITCHBURG (CBS) – A Boylston police officer was hit by a car in Fitchburg Wednesday morning while attempting to arrest a suspect.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. on Mechanic Street while the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit attempted to execute a search warrant.

State Police said the target of the investigation exited the home and got into a car before officers could stop him. While speeding off, the suspect hit the officer, who was on foot.

The Boylston officer was assisting with the warrant as part of the Worcester County drug task force. The officer is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

Troopers, K-9 units, and the State Police Air Wing participated in the search for the suspect, but he has not yet been located. State Police said the active search has concluded, but the investigation is ongoing.
