Boston Woman Breaks Record For Fastest Time Traveled To Every MBTA Station
BOSTON (CBS) -- A Boston woman made history on the T Friday. Maya Jonas-Silver, 29, broke the record for fastest time traveled to every MBTA station by 25 minutes.
The time to beat was 7 hours 29 minutes and 46 seconds. She tweeted that she did it in 7 hours 4 minutes and 29 seconds.
The journey started around 5 a.m. at the Riverside Green Line station and finished at Alewife on the Red Line.
"I have many times in my life wanted the red line to go faster, but I don't think I've ever wanted it to as badly as I do now," Jonas-Silver tweeted as she neared the finish line.
Her achievement caught the eye of Sen. Ed Markey.
"Congratulations Maya on your record-breaking journey on the MBTA," he tweeted. "Rest assured I'm doing everything I can to get new trains for you to ride nonstop when you're back home."
The MBTA congratulated her on Facebook for the accomplishment.
