Mayor Walsh To Deliver State Of City At Boston Symphony Hall

BOSTON (AP) — Mayor Marty Walsh is delivering his annual State of the City address.

The speech takes place 7 p.m. Tuesday at historic Symphony Hall, home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The Democratic mayor is expected to discuss his administration's accomplishments and goals for the year ahead.

It will be Walsh's second State of the City since taking office in January 2014.

Walsh touted Boston's now-defunct bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics in last year's address.

His administration helped quash the bid later that year by refusing to sign a guarantee committing the city to covering any costs should the games go over budget.

Walsh was a longtime state lawmaker and head of the Boston Building Trades Council, the city's largest building trades group, prior to being mayor.
