Did You Know It's Primary Day In Massachusetts?
BOSTON (AP) — This is primary election day in Massachusetts but with no statewide races on the ballot voter interest is expected to be limited to a few hotly-contested local races.
Polls open around the state at 7 a.m. Thursday and close at 8 p.m.

Secretary of State William Galvin estimates that only 8 percent to 10 percent of registered voters statewide will actually cast ballots.

But Galvin expects turnout to be a bit higher in some areas, for example Cape Cod where there are several contested legislative races including one to succeed outgoing Democratic state Sen. Dan Wolf.
Democratic primary voters in the Berkshires will be choosing between several candidates hoping to succeed outgoing state Sen. Benjamin Downing.
There are also contested primaries for sheriff in several counties around the state.
