Mass. Man Arrested In Girl Scout Cookie Cash Box Theft

ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police say they've arrested the man suspected of swiping a cash box from Girl Scouts selling cookies outside a store in Rochester, New Hampshire.

Pierre Thibault of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was arrested on a misdemeanor theft charge Tuesday. He was in a vehicle stopped by a state trooper.

Police said on March 27, a man wearing a black winter hat and New England Patriots jacket swiped the cash box and dashed into a car with two others inside. Two days later, 19-year-old Kayla Lonergam of Rochester, was identified as one of them and was arrested on a criminal abetting charge.

The 20-year-old Thibault was released on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on May 18. It couldn't be verified whether he had a listed phone number or an attorney.
