Mary McTaggart identified as woman hit and killed while standing on sidewalk in Malden
MALDEN – Mary McTaggart has been identified as the woman who was hit and killed by an SUV while standing on the sidewalk in Malden last week.
Witnesses said McTaggart had just left a YMCA food pantry and was walking on the sidewalk in the area of Main Street and Mountain Ave. on October 19.
The Middlesex District Attorney's office said a BMW SUV crashed into a Dodge SUV that was stopped at a traffic light. Impact from the crash sent the BMW crashing into two telephone poles before hitting McTaggart, who was pinned beneath the SUV.
It is not known if charges will be filed in the crash.
