Market Basket Employees Protest Firing Of CEO

CHELSEA (CBS) - Hundreds of Market Basket grocery store employees rallied outside the store in Chelsea Tuesday, in support of the man they call Arthur T.

Employees came from several of the Market Basket stores to protest the ouster of Arthur T. Demoulas by the company's board, as part of a decades old family feud.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Doug Cope reports

One woman from the Middleton store says Arthur T. was a great supporter of the customers, and the workers. "I've been with the company for 13 years and he knows my name, he talks to all the kids about staying in school and do a good job, and hard work pays off," she said. "He is a great guy."

There are 25,000 employees in the Market Basket chain, some came from as far as New Hampshire to attend the rally.
