Suspect shot by police after allegedly dragging officer in Mansfield

MANSFIELD - A man was shot by police in the parking lot of a Mansfield hotel after he allegedly dragged an officer with his car and fled the scene.

Mansfield officers were called to the Red Roof Inn on Forbes Boulevard at about 3:45 p.m. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they were met by North Attleboro police officers who were already on scene.

North Attleboro police say the officers were there to "serve outstanding arrest warrants on an individual who posed a danger to the community."
