Dispute Over Flag Leads To Shooting, Arrests In Manchester, NH
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police say a dispute about a flag at a home led to a shooting in Manchester, New Hampshire, and two men arrested.
Police say one of them, 22-year-old Michael Sirois, found the flag offensive Saturday. Police didn't describe it but media reports say it was a play off the old "Don't Tread on Me" flag with a snake. It featured a porcupine, the mascot of the Free State Project.
Police say 36-year-old Jarrod Ean-Dixon was shot and was hospitalized. A woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg was released from the hospital.
Sirois, of Chester, was charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon. Twenty-one-year-old Jason Gerry, of Sandown, was charged with second-degree assault. Both made bail Monday; it wasn't immediately known if they had lawyers and phone numbers couldn't be found for them.
