Police: Boy Kidnapped By Mother Found Safe In Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY (CBS) – Tewksbury Police brought an Amber Alert out of New Hampshire to an end Friday evening.

The two-year old boy's biological parents, Erika and Joshua Wallace, and a woman believed to be an aunt, Nicolette Russell, are under arrest.

A Tewksbury detective following his gut brought the three-hour search for the child to a peaceful conclusion. The plain-clothed detective said he noticed a vehicle that did not feel right to him. He ran the plate and it came back associated with an Amber Alert.

The van was spotted in the Home Depot parking lot not far from the 495/93 split. Police said it was packed with suitcases.

The Amber Alert was set-off in Manchester, NH. Police said Erika Wallace, 26, took her toddler during a supervised visit with DCYF. They were meeting at the food court at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester.

The DCYF employee said she looked down at her phone and when she looked up Wallace and the child were gone.

"This definitely shouldn't have happened," said Nicole Kennedy. Kennedy happened to be at the mall with her family. She supervises visitation for the state and was stunned at the news. "I couldn't even imagine how she (Wallace) pulled it off," said Kennedy.

Police say the Wallaces have arrest warrants in Massachusetts. They were going over the specific charges for the three adults.

The child is back in New Hampshire state custody.
