Woman charged with murder after man found dead in New Hampshire apartment
MANCHESTER, N.H. - A woman was charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a man found in an apartment in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Police were called to the apartment on Chestnut Street at around 5 a.m. Sunday where the man, identified as 75-year-old Vernon Hayford, was found with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Carrie Drake, 54, was arrested and charged with second degree murder. Attorney General John Formella said she stabbed Hayford to death. Drake is also charged with being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
Drake is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning.
