Man Robs South Boston Store With Hypodermic Needle

BOSTON (CBS) – On Christmas Eve, a man walked into a South Boston convenience store and pulled a hypodermic needle on the clerk. Police say the robbery was caught on camera and helped them break open several cases.

The suspect jabbed the needle at the clerk -- and then raided the register.

"They robbed him four times in a row, so he's completely scared of working here," said another clerk who works at the Andrews Square Convenience Store. He says the clerk robbed Christmas Eve has quit.

He's been robbed four times now on the job.

"The first three times, he came with knives, and then the fourth time he came with a needle," he said.

But this last robbery did lead to a break. The surveillance video of a man and woman who were with the robber led Boston Police to four suspects.

They've arrested Angel Lebron-Boria on armed robbery and Bridgette Tragiou on drug dealing, as well as two of their friends on outstanding warrants.

As for the store, the owner has decided to close altogether at the end of January.

They've lost $2,000 in the four robberies and say the area is simply too dangerous.

The clerk was not injured in the attack caught on camera. Boston Police say when they caught the suspects they were carrying crowbars and a hypodermic needle. Authorities believe they were preparing to strike again.
