Man killed in shooting on Columbus Avenue in Roxbury
ROXBURY - A man is dead after a shooting late Saturday night in Roxbury.
It happened at around 10:15 p.m. on Columbus Avenue. Police said when they arrived they found the man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Neighbors said more needs to be done to stop the violence.
"I feel like more of a police presence, but not so much where people feel threatened," said one man. "I don't know. There has to be a balance between community and police enforcement, I think. Everybody needs to work together. People need to come together as a community, people need to speak up on violence. I mean, it's just unfortunate."
The man's identity has not been released. Anyone with information is asked to contact Boston Police.
