Man Wanted For Trying To Rob 95-Year-Old WWII Vet Surrenders
MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – The man wanted for trying to rob an elderly World War II veteran in New Hampshire has turned himself in, police said.
Arthur Kamberis, 95, was leaving the Walgreen's on Valley Street in Manchester May 2 when a man tried to grab his wallet several times. But Kamberis hit him "three or four times" with his cane. When a driver stopped to help, the man ran off.
Manchester police released a surveillance photo of the suspect. The public gave investigators several tips, which helped them issue an arrest warrant for 42-year-old David Farnsworth of Manchester.
Farnsworth turned himself in to police early Wednesday morning.
He will be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court in Manchester Wednesday.
Kamberis was not hurt in the incident.
