Lynn residents told to "keep your doors locked" as police search for shooting suspect
LYNN – Lynn police have lifted a shelter-in-place but are asking residents to stay vigilant as they search for a shooting suspect.
The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Anthony "Bucky" Gutierrez. He is wanted for assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to murder and several firearms charges.
The shooting happened at around 11:30 a.m. on Commercial Street, across from Lynn Vocational Technical High School, which was put in lockdown. It is believed to have been a targeted shooting and not random, police said.
Officers could be seen placing crime scene tape near Commercial Market.
Lynn police said the suspect ran off after the shooting. They released photos of the suspect.
No injuries have been reported.
"We encourage residents to be vigilant and to keep your doors locked," police said.
Authorities are also asking residents who have security cameras to check their feeds from when around the shooting occurred. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
