Surveillance Video Captures Fatal Shooting In Lynn

LYNN (CBS) – One person was killed and two injured during a shooting in Lynn early Saturday morning that was captured on a neighbor's home surveillance camera.

The shooting was reported on Lawton Ave. around 2 a.m. Police were responding to complaints of loud music at a party when they heard gunshots ring out nearby.

A 25-year-old man died at the scene. He was later identified as Lynn resident Romel Danis Dob.

Police have not yet made any arrests. Two others were shot as well.

Both were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries. One man suffered life-threatening injuries.

It is not known if the men were at the party police were initially called about.

A neighbor told WBZ-TV that police recovered surveillance video that shows the incident.

Leny Thomas shared his concerns about the fatal shooting, which occurred in his father's neighborhood.

"Any stray bullet, anything can happen and anybody can be hurt, you know?" Thomas said. "It's not just the people that are involved in the situation, and it's just to the point, where, when's it enough? When do people stop? You know, this stupid-ness and it gets me emotional."

Now, friends and family of the victim are grieving, as a community looks for answers.

One man said the neighborhood used to be a safe place to live, but that isn't the case anymore.

"Thank God my kids are grown and gone now and it's just my wife and I," he said. "But even fear for my wife coming home from work during the day. It's quiet here sometimes, but you never know."
